Friends,
The League of Women Voters of Florida's letter to Governor Charlie Crist calling for a permanent halt to executions can now be found at the Death Penalty Information Center web site: http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/newsanddev.php?scid=16.
The DPIC is an excellent resource for analysis and info on capital punishment issues. Their Death Penalty Factsheet makes a great handout. Please continue to grow the effort to contact Gov. Crist. See: http://www.fadp.org/takeact.html.
Here are a few of the upcoming events of the Abolition Movement.
Shine the light,
---Mark

EIGHTH AMENDMENT TEST CASE
Crucial hearings continue at on June 18 and 19 in Ocala at the Marion County Courthouse. As directed by the Florida Supreme Court, the Lightbourne Appeal will be heard in the 6th Judicial Circuit. If you can attend any part of the hearings, please do. The Marion County Courthouse is located at 110 NW 1st Ave, in the center of Ocala, just NE of the intersection of Hwy 301 & Hwy 40. FADP attended the previous hearings and will be there again.
This is the first legal test of impact of the botched execution of Angel Diaz on the future of executions in Florida. There have been some amazing revelations. FADP will report more on this soon.
